Homeless Services Center (HSC) partners with individuals, veterans and families to create pathways out of homelessness into permanent housing. We hold firmly to a vision that homelessness should be rare, brief and non-recurring. HSC focuses its efforts on data-driven solutions to increase the rate at which participants end their homelessness and reduce chronic homelessness. Founded in 1986 as a tent camp, we now support 200 people in emergency shelter and transitional housing and provide supportive services to over 260 people in the community. We use a Housing First approach, which is a nationally recognized best practice centered on housing someone who is homeless as quickly as possible. Then, we connect them with appropriate supportive services in order to improve their health, wellbeing and opportunities for community integration and independent living.
