The Art of Nature

April 8 – June 18, 2017

Explore nature and science though the lens of art in our beloved annual exhibit of scientific illustration. Featuring the work of 20 artists from Santa Cruz, Monterey and the San Francisco Bay Area, the exhibit explores the diversity of nature — from a striking native blue bee to a colorful collection of ensatina salamanders, and from a duo of baby blue eye blooms to pink Peruvian lily stems. Pieces run the gamut of artistic styles, from watercolor to acrylic and digital painting to pen and ink. We invite you to dive into the beautiful world of illustration yourself and test your skills while drawing museum specimens at our Illustration Station.
