Too much to do in one night?

CalendarOn June 7th, forty-one venues throughout Santa Cruz County will be participating in First Friday. There are some very exciting events at the regular favorite venues; Felix Kulpa features the work of Gloria Alfred, The R. Blitzer Gallery is showcasing artists from the Catamaran Literary Magazine, The Santa Cruz Art League presents their 83rd annual Statewide exhibit and Cruzioworks is hosting another of their notorious open houses, this time focusing on the art of travel. But there are also a plethora of artists being shown in venues all over the place, from hair salons and boutiques, wine tasting rooms and breweries and olive stores not to mention the weed museum.

So how can you fit it all in one night?

You can’t.

But that’s ok, you don’t have to. First Friday is a great time to get out with friends and soak up inspiration from Santa Cruz’ infinitely creative masses, but with a couple of exceptions The art that is showcased each month on First Friday doesn’t disappear when the night is over. Hand on to your Good Times and come back on Second Friday, or Third Thursday or Whatever Wednesday and visit the shops, galleries, hair removal studio studios that you didn’t get to on First Friday. They might not have the cheese platter out, but chances are the crowds will be easier to navigate and there’s really no hurry to fit it all in.

So make sure not to miss a thing on First Friday, but if you do, don’t worry, you can catch up later.
