Posted @withregram • @curatedbythesea This striking piece, “Kawa to Sora” is 24x18x2in was created by Santa Cruz artist Kendra Morrison. Kendra has developed a unique wood burning technique mixed with painting and collage. This is a pieces that really needs to be studied in person! Kendra writes, “Kawa to Sora reflects my respect for the Japanese culture and the rich influence of Japanese art, especially woodblock prints. The great blue heron takes center stage, and is accompanied by spherical glimpses into the native life that exists around it.” Kendra’s work is part of “450 Pieces” - an exhibition in partnership with @artscouncilsc @radiusgallery @rblitzergallery. The show features over 450 pieces of original artwork by artist throughout Santa Cruz County. We are open 12-4 Thursday through Saturday and late this Friday from 12-8 (First Friday in March :) and by appointment. •
