My name is Andrew Power. I'm a landscape oil painter based in Santa Cruz, Ca.. I love life, I love to paint, I paint to give thanks for life. My images are imagined. My goal is to build interesting spacial illusions, while setting up exciting color contrasts. I hope viewers enjoy interacting with my work, and find themselves relaxed while they explore the different spaces within.
I was raised on the central coast in San Luis Obispo county and moved to Santa Cruz in 1995 to attend Cabrillo college. I enjoyed many art courses there then transferred to UCSC where I majored in fine arts with a painting emphasis and graduated in 1999. I paint at every opportunity and am so gratefull to do it here in Santa Cruz.
