Marilyn Kuksht has been a full time sculptor for over 20 years working primarily in fabricated steel and cast bronze. At the peak of a successful career in corporate management, Kuksht abruptly changed course to focus on art. Since then she has won several juried competitions and has monumental public work at Los Gatos Civic Center and in the cities of Santa Cruz, San Mateo, and Santa Clara, California. Her sculptures, which range from small pedestal pieces to large freestanding outdoor works, have been exhibited and retained in galleries and permanent collections in Europe, Asia, and throughout the United States.
Kuksht earned a Master of Arts degree from the University of Washington. She works out of her studio in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California and is represented by several California galleries. Kuksht specializes in commission work with both individual clients and team efforts with architects, interior designers, and public art projects. Her sculptures are noted for the unusual and colorful surface patinas which she has developed and have become signature of her work. Detailed exhibition list, resume, and references are gladly supplied upon request.
