Active local landscape painter working mostly in oils. My subject matter celebrates the beauty of California and beyond especially the Central Coast, Big Sur to Half-moon Bay, Steinbeck's inland values and the Mission architecture of the region's Spanish Era.
I paint on location in the impressionist style of the early California artists."En plein air", as it's called ,which gives the painter direct contact with the light, elements and shifting colors allowing for a fresh direct and spontaneous image to emerge.
Mostly a self taught artist, I have been painting for 10 years with intention, exhibiting in group shows with Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters, Art Festivals in Capitola, Palm Springs, Menlo Park,, Santa Cruz County Open Studios, Monterey County Open Studios and other venues.
I have had successful sales and repeat collectors, but most of all I am proud to see how much my work continues to grow.
My favorite quote is by Henri Rousseau "
I am never so happy as when I observe Nature and paint what I see..."
