Growing up in South California’s media rich Los Angeles area, I was hooked on drawing, painting and creating music.
Since graduating from the Art & Design School of San Jose State University in San Jose, California with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration, I have managed to sustain employment as a full-time and freelance designer.
Representing Bertoni Design and as an in-house graphic designer, the local businesses that I have worked for: O‘Neill Inc, Fox Racing, Pearson Arrow Surfboards, Plantronics, Giro Sports, Specialized, Apple Inc, Zircon. Other design agencies and global product manufacturers in New York, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose.
I am proud to have been a graphic designer for the creative team at O’Neill Wetsuits, called O’FX. We accepted a Brand Award of Excellence in 1995 for the logo identity and brand guidelines of the internationally renowned “O’Neill Wave.” In 2007, O’Neill Inc. sold this trademark to a Dutch company, Logo International S.V for an estimated amount of 22-million US dollars for the international rights. After weeks of research—through 50 years of O’Neill surfing history — my initial sketches of the wave logo created this iconic 20 plus year logo identity.
Having a life long passion for illustration, screen printing, photography, design and art — I want to continue to be progressive. The results will be compelling visual design that challenges the perspective of the eye.
