I'll be exhibiting my images (Nautical, Floral and Birds) on Friday Dec. 6th, 5-9pm at the downtown location of the Homeless Garden Project, 1338 Pacific Avenue.
Please stop by between 5pm and 9pm – Hope to see you at our First Friday Santa Cruz exhibition 🙂
Backgrounder:
I'm a Santa Cruz Open Studios photographer and a life-long photographer starting way back in the film era with my first 35mm SLR camera.
I strive to capture images that connect me to that precise moment in time and place, to create a sense of "ahh" that makes me smile, and hopefully, for my viewers as well.
My photographic outings are planned around a theme & then I scout appropriate sites. It's a matter of going back at different times of day, to determine how the lighting will highlight the subject & composition I have in mind. Next, it’s viewing and sorting of sometimes hundreds of images. I then select what the appropriate production output would be best for the images (metal, fine-art paper, canvas, acrylic).
I’m really enamored with the fine-art papers for traditional matted and framed display. Other times, the images call to me as metal prints. In either case, the goal is to transport me back to the moment I snapped the shutter to recreate that emotional trigger.
