My professional life was spent caring for and educating teenagers. I have been a minister, supervised a dormitory in a Boarding School and been a High School teacher and administrator, but it was a trip to the swimming pool with a 4 year old that changed my life. As he climbed up the diving board for the first time, I got my wife's camera ready. When he finally went off the end of the board I learned my first lesson in digital photography - shutter delay. Since then I have read articles and books; I have attended workshops, seminars, and the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, Montana, all in an attempt to make up for missing that one "once in a lifetime" shot.

These days, I draw much of my photographic inspiration from the natural world and, of course, my grandchildren. Both of these offer plenty of opportunities to catch "once in a lifetime" moments.
