Judy Gittelsohn has been painting in California since 1977 and loving it. Judy is a Golden Paints Certified Working Artist and teaches about the properties and applications of the outstanding Golden products. She offers artists direction on the many ways to use these great materials. As well, she consistently enjoys teaching art to people with special needs.
Originally from Oregon, Judy now resides in Watsonville with her sweetheart Greg, their dogs Rosie and Petunia, her old cat Flower, and brief visits from her daughter Daisy.
Her paintings are sensitive studies of an idea over time. She follows her own wondrous path, moving from one subject to the next using paint as her narrative medium, sometimes leaping from representations of nature to conceptual experiments with words and symbols. Often her work is layered in thoughts, in subjects and in paint.
