ERIKA ISMERIO

After a BA in General Design from San Jose State University, Erika Ismerio was awarded an MA from the same University in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on computer arts and research in education. She is very active in the Arts community in the Bay Area. Among other venues, she has shown her work at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in San Jose, the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, the Golden Gate Park Hall of Flowers in San Francisco, Pajaro Valley Arts Council, and the WORKS gallery in San Jose.

Her central focus has been always on women in dance. Her art work reflects her passion for dance. She seeks to capture the perfect moment in time that makes a movement unique to each person. Just as there is only one set of fingerprints that makes each person unique, there is one moment of movement that makes each of us unique, different and special.

"Nothing is more revealing than movement. . . . The body says what words cannot." - Martha Graham
