Painting

I am a retired teacher who recently moved back to the Bay Area after living in Pennsylvania for 5 years. I mostly do fluid acrylic art, both on canvas and on ceramic coasters. I also make table tops and heat-proof trivets, plus fused glass pendants, although my kiln is not currently set up. I started making art in my 50s, beginning with mosaics, moving on to polymer clay, and then alcohol ink, fused glass and fluid acrylics. I love mixing colors and finding ones that go well together. I use various skilled processes in my painting, and no two paintings are ever the same, and usually a surprise. So far the themes I have used include flowers, galaxies, tie-die, and abstract shapes. I am mesmerized by playing with beautiful color pigments and I think it has increased my appreciation of the outdoors. I see all the shades of a color, for example I used to just refer to the color green, but now it is multiple shades of green I see. I also love the element of surprise in working with raw elements of color, organic shapes, composition, viscosity, and raw pigments. I'm always looking for the perfect picture.
