Guna Leikind is an Afro-Peruvian American artist whose works vary in medium from oil painting to sculpture work. She takes inspiration from societal and political happenings as well as everyday nuances. Guna loves to take the often overlooked parts of a room or space and enhance them into a visual manifestation, giving them a whole new story. She focuses on the whispers of society and amplifies them. Guna was initially self taught and went on to pursue an Art education at San Jose State University. Having this discipline shifted her art from drawing to oil painting and glass sculpture. She has participated in group shows at the Felix Kulpa gallery, the Radius Gallery and San Jose State University galleries. As an artist she hopes to inspire feelings through her work. Guna’s art encourages the pursuit of curiosity and invites you to observe your space in a different way
