Burt Levitsky has been a practitioner in the fine art of classical painting since 1960. Although mostly self taught, the artist follows traditional painting methods from a lead white ground to the final varnish. Influenced by the painters of the Flemish school of the 1600s and the French Academy painters of the early 1800s, and spending countless hours wandering through the Metropolitan Museum of Art in N.Y.C., and the Louvre in Paris through the 1960s.
