We are excited for Joan Bogart to bring in a collection of new prints to Artisans & agency for the month of May. Her sea and nature inspired prints always inspire us and we hope you can join us for the First Friday event.

We will also be showcasing the internationally inspired jewelry of Julia Lindsey of Nana Loop Designs.

More about Joan:
Joan Pranata Bogart is an artist drawing inspiration from nature and culture. Printmaking with her kids in 2018 in their classes was a catalyst for Joan’s self-taught practice of linoprint and relief printing, as it took her drawing skill and evolved it into a tactile fashion. She enjoys the technical aspect of taking a drawing and carefully hand-carving it into life in her relief ink prints.

Julia's background is pretty international. She's grown up all over the world, which has influenced the kind of art pieces she designs. Her childhood was mainly spent in Italy, Turkey and Senegal. Her designs are inspired by the beautiful colors in Turkish mosaics. She also loves Japanese fashion and has closely followed the trends there – she finds their taste unique and inspirational. Finally, she loves the Art deco style and has used its architecture as starting off points for many of her pieces.
Her jewelry uses mostly gold, whether white or 14k. She uses semi precious stones and fiber beads from around the world. She spends time in Egypt and Morocco yearly to get some of her beads.
