Illuminée Studio welcomes you to a First Friday encore show for abstract paintings by Gene Holtan. Born in Saskatchewan Canada, Gene Holtan was a commercial artist and cartoonist in the 60s and 70s. His work was published in The Saturday Evening Post, Rolling Stone, and Ramparts magazines. In 1974, he settled on Beach Hill in Santa Cruz, where he would frequently hold court with other local artists. He took on abstract painting in the last 16 years of his life, some of which will be on display at Illuminée Studio.
