Please join us from 6-8PM for the opening reception of our new exhibition, “Feasting on the World, Paintings by Gene Holtan & Poems by Gary Young”.

M.K. Contemporary Art is excited to share our new exhibition, an inspiring collection of abstract paintings by Gene Holtan paired with thoughtful poems by Gary Young from his new book American Analects, which meditates upon the life, death, and loss of poet’s beloved mentor, the painter Gene Holtan. Together, their work explores the beauty, chaos, and connections that make up our world.

The paintings and poems showcased in this new exhibition will be displayed alongside the extraordinary work of 25+ local and regional artists who are represented by the gallery. Live music during the reception by local talent Jack Reed.

* The Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (next to the gallery) will host a pop up exhibition of additional art by Gene Holtan until 9PM
** We will be hosting a Book Launch & Poetry Reading by Gary Young, December 8, 3:00-5:00 pm
