Carol Eddy enriches her travels by filling a Carnet de Voyage with on-site sketches and watercolors of her impressions and observations. She carries a compact kit with basic drawing and painting supplies so she is always ready for a quick sketch on the street or in a park. High quality digital prints are available from her most recent sketchbooks, completed in Paris during April and May. Also on view are several of her ceramic wall sculptures from the series "Metaphoric Monsters."
Maren Sinclair Hurn is showing a sculpture series focusing on the faces and stories of people living with mental illness and their healing process. Ceramic wall reliefs begin the journey. Other works on view in the studio and the hallway gallery include selections from her installation entitled Healing from Shame.
Bev Zerbib-Berda just unloaded a tightly-packed high-fire gas kiln with a new selection of elegant decorated bowls, sturdy sculptural mugs, and bottles with nature-inspired reliefs. Each one-of-a-kind wheel-thrown piece is decorated with stamped textures or incised and water-etched floral reliefs. Her richly decorated stoneware and porcelain pottery reveals the rich variations of reduction glazes developed in ancient Asian cultures. Her functional vessels are perfect for wedding gifts, celebrations, or to beautify your home.
Studio 120 & Gallery is open regularly for First Friday Santa Cruz Art Tours, special events, and other times by appointment with the artists. Face coverings are required.
