Featured this month: ceramic diptych wall sculptures by Maren Sinclair Hurn entitled Attraction Aversion: Two Sides of a Coin of Healing from Shame. Symbolic images evoke personal progress from the pain of living with shame to taking positive steps for transformation. Her larger multi-piece installation is on view on the walls of the hallway and inside the studio gallery. A selection of her small works is available.
Carol Eddy's 6-section wall sculpture, RedBlueGold: Resurgence, is on display in the studio gallery. This six-section wall piece in high-fire ceramics includes colorful and dynamic flame-like forms emerging from dark textured organic shapes. Selected drawings and watercolors from her Santa Cruz sketchbook are available as digital prints.
Bev Zerbib-Berda is offering her selection of beautiful wheel-thrown vessels: lidded jars, bowls, mugs, and large platters. Decorated with incised textures and floral reliefs, these one-of-a-kind pieces reveal the subtle variations of high-fire reduction glazes, such as celadon, tenmoku, and wood ash. Perfect for special gifts for yourself or for friends.
Studio 120 is open for First Friday Art Tours and by appointment with the artists. Face coverings are required.
