My mother gifted me my first sewing machine when my first son Jaxon (who is now 11), was born. It was LOVE at first sight - of course for my son Jax, but also for my tiny little beginner Juki sewing machine. With an already eco conscious drive in our everyday living, it came naturally to me that I use our unwanted or unused old shirts and other soft textiles while exploring making some tiny little baby clothes. I was also inspired to do this, as I didn't find the usual suspects of boy clothing (i.e. trains and baseballs and dinosaur printed matching ensembles) very creative or original. From this moment on, making clothes for Jax, and then a few years later, his little brother MaZen was the norm - we could save money, consume less by using salvaged materials that were already out there, and create something unique and creative! From here, friends and family started requesting custom pieces, and the rest is history.

These days, you can find me sewing in my work/live space at the Tannery Arts Center in Santa Cruz, CA. I mostly make children's apparel and accessories, and have also ventured into making some adult pieces. Each piece is one of a kind, sprinkled with special embellishments of love and intention, and perfect imperfections - like all of us. You can find me online, at local maker markets, and (as they come back into being an option) various festivals.

Also in alignment with conscious living, I have also added screen printing artwork and conscious messages onto 100% cotton clothing - often salvaged tees, and sometimes small batch collections.

As a textile artist, it brings me great joy and pride, to continue to spread awareness about upcycling and reducing textile waste to our landfills as an effort to live consciously as an Earth steward. I will continue to keep creating these special wearable art pieces for as long as I'm able, and look forward to making a magical piece for you or your little loves!!
