Welcome to our newest location in Santa Cruz: Big Basin Vineyard’s Tasting Room & Wine Bar. Located at 525 Pacific Avenue at the junction with Front Street, this space is all about sharing our wines with the community – bringing our mountain roots to the downtown scene.
A little about our winemaking & food offering:
We produce aromatic and ethereal wines that transparently and authentically express our vineyards and the varieties we work with through natural fermentation and a focus on whole cluster. We farm organically and practice minimal intervention as a way to capture the uniqueness of the ocean-influenced, mountain vineyards we source from. From bottles, to glasses, to flights – there are a multitude of ways to taste through our wines and get a sense of what we are all about.This same grape-to-glass mentality is something we wanted to mirror when creating a food menu to enjoy alongside our wines. For this culinary-collaboration, we worked with local growers, makers, and chefs of the Santa Cruz region who had an aligned vision – respect for the environment, locally-focussed, organic where possible, and artisanal in nature. From small bites, to open-face baguettes, to cheeses, charcuterie and other local specialities, we have a little something for everyone to elevate their wine experience.
