Barbara is a native Santa Cruzan. She began painting in oils as a teenager. Historically Barbara’s oil paintings centered around representational landscapes portraits and still life scenes. She has spent many years teaching others to paint in Santa Cruz and at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Barbara currently works in oil, enamel, acrylic and collage on canvas for a series of abstract florals and a series of transparent layers of paint to depict colorful non-representational images on large canvases.
