After 20+ years in Marine Biology, my more creative side took over. I am now a professional furniture maker, and avid photographer.
My award-winning original furniture designs blend the essences of Asian and contemporary aesthetics, with a fluency in the vocabulary of modernism.

Most of my work as a full-time furniture designer/maker requires a great deal of creative iteration, detailed planning, forethought, and technical deliberateness. Photography is a more spontaneous creative outlet, providing balance to all of that left-brain structure. Images can be captured anywhere, either after careful planning, or on the spur of the moment.
Line, shape, shadow, and form are common elements in both my pursuits. My photographs frequently strive to illuminate the inherent line, tonality, and rhythm of a scene through the use of black and white presentation. I also enjoy highlighting the graphic nature of images from both the built and natural worlds, often through abstraction.
