Jewelry for Giants! 💎💍 @felixkulpagallery What a beautiful exhibit! 😍

Featuring the work of 16 artists, this conceptual exhibit imagines a world of giant humans decorated with stunning jewelry. 💎 We fell in love with the giant rings by artists Keith Millar and Flair Goldman and the charm bracelet by Mary Tartaro.

If you missed the opening of the “Larger Than Life: Jewelry for Giants” exhibit at Felix Kulpa Gallery last First Friday, don't worry. The show is open until Dec 30 with regular gallery hours Thursday-Sunday from 11am-6pm and during First Friday on Dec 1 from 5-9pm.

Who else stopped at MUD Gallery of Studio Ceramics on First Friday? 🤩 MUD featured the sculptural work of Iver Henning, a local ceramicist from a family of potters in the Santa Cruz Mountains.🪴

“Steamfunk” presented quirky, fantastical robot/animal creatures in clay with amazing detail. “The pieces are predominantly dictated by my mood and nonsensical delusions that go through my head…narrative work needs to let the viewer come to their own conclusions about meaning and artistic intention. It’s a constantly evolving process that never gets boring.” - Iver Henning 🤖

MUD Gallery of Studio Ceramics is a gorgeous space in the Michealangelo Studio building at 1111 River Street across from the Tannery Arts Center. Showcasing work from a collective of local ceramicists in both functional and fine art pottery. They are a regular on the First Friday Santa Cruz Art Tour and a must see for pottery lovers! ❤️

Spotlight on ART! ✨ One of Santa Cruz’s newest

Spotlight on ART! ✨ One of Santa Cruz’s newest public art installations, “Dancing Waters” designed by local artist Maha Taitano and directed by Kathleen Crocetti (Community Arts & Empowerment) was unveiled on the River Front parking garage in August.

The 480 sq ft mosaic is a beautiful portrayal of water culture in Santa Cruz and pays homage to our Pacific Islander & Ohlone roots. 🌊🏄🏽‍♀️🐟

The project funded by the CARD (City Arts Recovery Design) Program sought to empower and uplift BIPOC artists in the community.

“This project supports culture and community and the essence of home - the public gets to participate and have ownership and pride - it helps bring peace and connection to people and especially with diverse people.” - Maha Taitano ✨
